About MaxMindSecurity

Security work that is scoped, agreed and delivered in the open.

We provide application, cloud, data and managed security services to businesses that need experienced help without a large in-house team. Every engagement is scoped in writing around the systems you already run.

Who we are

A security practice built around the systems businesses actually run.

MaxMindSecurity started with WordPress protection, which it still provides through its own plugin, and grew as customers asked for help with the rest of their estate: the applications behind the site, the cloud accounts they run in, the data they hold and the tooling nobody had time to configure properly.

The way we work has not changed. We look at what you have, agree what needs doing and put it in writing before anything starts.

  • Application, cloud, data and managed security under one engagement model
  • Work carried out against your existing hosting, cloud and security tooling
  • Findings and recommendations written for the people who have to act on them

How we work

Four principles that hold across every service.

They decide how a request is scoped, how work is prioritised and what you are left with when it ends. Ranking findings by likelihood and impact rather than by scanner severity follows the OWASP Risk Rating Methodology.

01

Scope in writing first

Systems in scope, method, deliverables, responsibilities on each side and price are agreed before anything starts. Nothing begins on a vague brief.

02

Fit the stack you already run

Recommendations work with your hosting, CDN, DNS, cloud platform, identity provider and existing security tooling rather than pushing a migration.

03

Prioritise by business risk

Findings are ranked by what is genuinely reachable and what it would cost you, not by raw severity counts from a scanner.

04

Leave a clear next step

Every engagement ends with prioritised actions, documented decisions and a named owner for each, so progress continues after handover.

What we do

Service lines that share one engagement model.

Each area has its own services and its own page. The scoping, delivery and handover work the same way across all of them.

Application security

Web application firewall, bot and DDoS protection, DNS, CDN, account takeover defence and cloud platform security for the systems on your public path.

Data security

Discovery, classification, access control and monitoring for the sensitive data behind your applications.

Platform and endpoint

Store, application, server and company device reviews for the platforms a business already runs on.

From enquiry to outcome

What an engagement looks like from your side.

The first conversation is about what you run and what is worrying you. The service, the scope and the price follow from that. When the right starting point is unclear, a security assessment usually settles it.

  1. 01

    Discover

We review what you run, how traffic and data reach it, the controls in place today and the concern behind the request.

  2. 02

    Scope

We agree the systems, method, deliverables, responsibilities on each side and the commercial terms in writing.

  3. 03

    Deliver

We carry out the agreed work with clear updates, raising anything urgent as soon as it is found.

  4. 04

    Improve

You are left with prioritised findings, documented decisions and a clear next step for each one.

Who we work with

Teams that own systems but not a security department.

Online businesses and SaaS

Customer-facing applications and APIs that need firewall, bot, DDoS and account protection without slowing releases down.

Companies running on AWS or Google Cloud

Cloud accounts that grew quickly and now need identity, network and configuration reviewed by someone who has done it before.

Agencies and technical partners

Studios and developers who want a security partner they can bring into client work with a clear scope and a single point of contact.

Tell us what you run. We will tell you what fits.

Describe the systems, the concern and any deadline. We come back with a practical next step and a written scope before anything begins.

  • A reply by email from the person who will scope the work.
  • Scope, deliverables and price confirmed in writing before anything starts.
  • No account or payment is needed to send an enquiry.
